Women’s Month: Celebrating the ladies of Renishaw Hills

With August marking Women’s Month, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to share more about the wonderful ladies who make Renishaw Hills what it is. Whilst these women all play different parts within the village, all contribute to the incredible community and lifestyle that our residents get to enjoy today.

Julieann Hampson

If you’ve ever enjoyed a private tour of Renishaw Hills, you’ll recognise the lovely Julieann. Not only does she facilitate sales and show interested parties around the village, but she also makes sure that new residents are welcomed the Renishaw way. This includes managing snag lists, supporting new residents on moving day and also addressing any questions they might have from initial interest right through to occupancy. Julieann’s role within the Renishaw family is an important one and we certainly don’t know what we’d do without her. As a wife, mom and businesswoman, she wears many hats, all of them with her trademark smile and fantastic attitude.

Dr Elsa Pooley

As a lady who needs no introduction, Dr Elsa Pooley has been the visionary and driving force behind our lush indigenous gardens in the village. With her team at her side, she’s helped realise the Renishaw vision of gardens that look spectacular all year round. This is so much so that we were even invited the host the Winter Gardens last year by the KZN Botanical Society. Although she’s a busy lady, Elsa is always ready and willing to share her knowledge with fellow gardening enthusiasts through a series of tips that we often share on our social media platforms.

Amanda Maphumulo

Another Renishaw Hills gem who is known for her determination and passion for plants. From arriving at the nursery with her CV to joining us part-time and now holding the position of Garden Installation and Maintenance Supervisor, Amanda certainly isn’t afraid to go the extra mile. Working closely with Dr Elsa Pooley, Amanda played an important role in helping establish the gardens that our residents love so dearly. She uses her knowledge of plants and her creativity to consult with each homeowner, before bringing the gardens to life and ensuring that everything thrives.

Renishaw Hills, community is everything

What began as an opportunity for new residents to get together weekly to meet, socialise and get creative has soon become a catalyst for helping others. Lead by Linda Smith, the ladies of Renishaw Hills take every opportunity to use their talents for the greater good. From knitting to crocheting and even sewing, Projects With A Purpose are driven to help their fellow man, especially underprivileged children who need it most. So far, they’ve provided blankets, clothing and other essentials to local organisations and care facilities. They even created some “knitted knockers” for breast cancer survivors, proving that their desire to help and empower others knows no bounds.

Our Projects With A Purpose Committee

What was once only a dream has fast become one of our greatest selling points. The Renishaw Hills community is a tight-knit one, where no one is ever excluded. This has resulted in a happy, active and enthusiastic group of residents who are always looking to host another gathering and welcome newcomers with open arms. Even during trying times like these, they continue to rally together and lift each other’s spirits daily.
